Jill Culiner has been showing her social critical work in France, Hungary, Germany,
Spain and Canada for the last thirty years. In 2001, her historical curiosity led
her to trace the immigration of Jews to Canada, her country of origin. The result
was Finding Home, published by Sumach Press in 2004 and for which she won
the Tannenbaum Prize in Canadian Jewish History and was shortlisted for
the ForeWord magazine prize in the essay category. In 2007 she published
Slanderous Tongue, a mystery set in provincial France.
Culiner’s artwork can be seen at l’Hotel de la Boule d’Or, a former hotel/cafĂ©
in the Mayenne region of France.
